Katsuie Shibata
Katsuie Shibata was a prominent Japanese military commander and samurai during the Sengoku period (16th century). He served under Oda Nobunaga, a powerful warlord working to unify Japan. Shibata was known for his strategic skill and fierce loyalty. After Nobunaga's death, he briefly led efforts to resist Nobunaga’s successor but was ultimately defeated and committed seppuku (ritual suicide). His role exemplifies the turbulent and constantly shifting alliances of Japan’s warring states era, illustrating the complexities of loyalty, power, and warfare during that time.
