Tissue Processing
Tissue processing is a laboratory method used to prepare biological samples, such as tissue from biopsies, for microscopic examination. The process involves several key steps: fixation to preserve the tissue, dehydration to remove water, clearing to make the tissue compatible with embedding materials, and then embedding the tissue in a solid medium, usually paraffin wax. This allows thin sections of the tissue to be cut and placed on slides for staining and analysis. The goal is to maintain the tissue's structure and cellular details, enabling pathologists to diagnose diseases.
