Tiberius

Tiberius was the second Roman Emperor, ruling from AD 14 to 37. He succeeded his stepfather, Augustus, and was initially a capable military leader. However, his reign became marked by political intrigue and a growing sense of paranoia. Tiberius moved the imperial court to Capri, distancing himself from Rome and its politics. His rule is often characterized by a decline in public morale and increased treachery among the elite. Despite his accomplishments in expanding the empire and stabilizing its finances, Tiberius remains a controversial figure, viewed as both a skilled politician and a reclusive autocrat.
