Theban Tombs

Theban Tombs refer to the burial sites of ancient Egyptian nobility and officials located near Thebes (modern Luxor). These tombs, which date from the 18th to the 20th Dynasties (around 1550 to 1070 BCE), are renowned for their elaborate paintings and inscriptions that depict scenes from daily life, religious rituals, and the afterlife. They were designed to ensure a successful journey into the afterlife and often included items the deceased might need.
