The Rohingya Crisis

The Rohingya Crisis involves the systematic persecution of the Rohingya people, a Muslim minority in Myanmar (Burma). Since 2016, violence, discrimination, and military crackdowns have forced over 700,000 Rohingya to flee to neighboring Bangladesh, seeking safety and humanitarian aid. The crisis is fueled by deep-rooted ethnic tensions, historical injustices, and denial of citizenship for the Rohingya, rendering them stateless. Despite international condemnation, efforts to resolve the situation, improve living conditions, and facilitate safe returns have faced significant challenges, leading to ongoing humanitarian and human rights issues in the region.
