The Prague Summit

The Prague Summit, held in November 2002, was a significant NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) meeting in Prague, Czech Republic, that marked the alliance's expansion and modernization. During this summit, NATO invited several countries from Eastern Europe, including Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia, to join the organization, reflecting the post-Cold War shift in Europe. Leaders discussed strategies to address emerging security challenges, such as terrorism, and endorsed a new defense strategy to enhance NATO's capabilities in response to global threats. The summit aimed to strengthen transatlantic ties and promote security in the region.
