The Iceberg Model

The Iceberg Model illustrates how much of our knowledge and understanding is hidden beneath the surface. Just like an iceberg, where only a small portion is visible above water, most of our knowledge is unseen. The visible part represents explicit knowledge, like facts and figures. The larger, hidden part signifies tacit knowledge, encompassing experiences, beliefs, and intuition that shape our understanding but are harder to articulate. This model emphasizes that to grasp complex subjects, we must recognize and explore the underlying, less visible insights and mental frameworks that influence our perspectives.
