The Factory System

The Factory System refers to a method of manufacturing that emerged during the Industrial Revolution, where large numbers of workers and machines were brought together in one place, called a factory, to produce goods more efficiently. Instead of skilled artisans working independently, factories used division of labor, breaking down tasks into simpler steps, allowing workers to specialize and increase productivity. This system enabled mass production of items, reduced costs, and transformed economies by shifting from agricultural to industrial practices, influencing social structures, labor relationships, and urbanization.
