The Aperture

Aperture refers to the opening in a camera lens that controls the amount of light entering the camera. It is measured in f-stops; a lower f-stop number (like f/2.8) means a larger opening, allowing more light in for brighter images and a shallower depth of field, which blurs the background. A higher f-stop number (like f/16) means a smaller opening, reducing light and increasing depth of field, keeping more of the image in focus. Understanding aperture helps photographers achieve desired exposure and artistic effects in their photos.
