Aperture (film)
Aperture in photography refers to the opening in a camera lens that controls the amount of light entering the camera. It is measured in f-stops, with a lower f-stop number indicating a wider opening (more light) and a higher number indicating a smaller opening (less light). Aperture affects not only exposure but also depth of field, which determines how much of the image appears sharp or blurry. A wider aperture creates a blurred background, highlighting the subject, while a narrower aperture keeps more of the scene in focus. Balancing aperture with shutter speed and ISO is essential for proper exposure.
