The 21st Amendment

The 21st Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified in 1933, repealed the 18th Amendment, effectively ending Prohibition. Prohibition had banned the production, sale, and transportation of alcoholic beverages in the U.S. The 21st Amendment allowed states to regulate alcohol again, acknowledging that the ban had led to increased illegal activities and economic challenges. This amendment marked a significant shift in U.S. policy, recognizing the importance of regulated alcohol consumption and the need for government oversight instead of outright prohibition. It remains the only constitutional amendment to revoke another amendment.
