21st Amendment

The 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ratified in 1933, ended Prohibition by repealing the 18th Amendment, which banned alcohol nationwide. This allowed states to regulate or legalize alcohol sales individually. The amendment was driven by widespread illegal drinking, economic needs during the Great Depression, and changing public attitudes. Essentially, it restored states' authority over alcohol laws, leading to the legal sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages across the country once again.
