Teflon

Teflon is a brand name for a material called polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), known for its non-stick properties. It’s used mainly as a coating on cookware to prevent food from sticking and make cleaning easier. Teflon’s molecules create a surface with very low friction, meaning things slide over it easily. It’s also heat-resistant and chemically inert, making it useful in various industrial applications, such as wiring insulation and gaskets. Despite its benefits, high heat can cause Teflon to release fumes, so proper usage is important for safety.
