Te Puni Kōkiri
Te Puni Kōkiri is the government’s primary agency dedicated to supporting the development, well-being, and success of Māori communities in New Zealand. Its role includes advising the government, implementing policies, and providing funding to promote Māori culture, economic growth, education, health, and social services. Established in 1992, Te Puni Kōkiri works to ensure Māori voices are heard in decision-making processes and that initiatives are culturally appropriate and effective, fostering stronger, more resilient Māori communities while respecting their heritage and rights.
