Taxanes
Taxanes are a class of chemotherapy drugs commonly used in cancer treatment. They work by interfering with the cancer cell's ability to divide and grow. By stabilizing structures called microtubules, which are essential for cell division, taxanes effectively stop cancer cells from multiplying. Paclitaxel and docetaxel are two well-known examples. These drugs are often used to treat various cancers, including breast, lung, and ovarian cancer. While taxanes can be effective in combating cancer, they may also cause side effects due to their impact on normal, healthy cells.
