Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, often referred to as "broken heart syndrome," is a temporary heart condition triggered by intense emotional or physical stress. It causes the heart's main pumping chamber to balloon, leading to symptoms similar to a heart attack, such as chest pain and shortness of breath. The name comes from the resemblance of the heart's shape to a Japanese octopus trap (takotsubo). Fortunately, it is typically reversible, and most individuals recover fully with proper care. It highlights the strong connection between emotional health and physical well-being.
