Superoxide Dismutase

Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) is an important enzyme in our bodies that protects cells from damage caused by reactive molecules called superoxide radicals. These radicals are byproducts of normal cellular processes and can harm DNA, proteins, and cell membranes if not controlled. SOD works by converting superoxide radicals into less harmful substances, like hydrogen peroxide and oxygen, which are then broken down safely by other enzymes. This process helps reduce oxidative stress, supporting overall cell health and protecting the body from aging and disease-related damage.
