Sunscreen (UV protection)

Sunscreen is a lotion, cream, or spray that protects your skin from the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. These rays can cause sunburn, skin aging, and increase the risk of skin cancer. Sunscreens contain active ingredients that either absorb, reflect, or scatter UV radiation. They are rated with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF), indicating the level of protection they provide. For example, an SPF of 30 blocks about 97% of UVB rays. It’s important to apply sunscreen generously and reapply every two hours, especially after swimming or sweating, to maintain effective protection.
