Structural Assimilation
Structural assimilation refers to the process where a minority group gains access to the social institutions and structures of the dominant culture, such as schools, workplaces, and community organizations. This often involves the minority group occupying the same roles and participating equally in society, thus integrating into the social framework. Unlike cultural assimilation, which focuses on adopting the beliefs and practices of the dominant culture, structural assimilation emphasizes the inclusion and acceptance of individuals within the societal systems, leading to a more equal footing in social, economic, and political arenas.
