Stone of Scone

The Stone of Scone, also known as the Stone of Destiny, is a historic symbol of Scottish monarchy. Traditionally, it was used during the coronation of Scottish kings, believed to contain the essence of kingship. The stone is a block of sandstone, around 26 inches long, and is often associated with Scottish heritage and national identity. In 1296, it was taken to England by King Edward I. After centuries of being held there, it was returned to Scotland in 1996 but remains part of the coronation regalia for British monarchs at Westminster Abbey.
