Pictish culture

Pictish culture refers to the civilization that existed in what is now Scotland during the early medieval period, roughly from the 3rd to the 9th century. The Picts were known for their distinctive stone carvings, elaborate symbols, and fortified settlements. They spoke a Celtic language and had a rich artistic tradition, which included intricately carved stones depicting animals and mystical symbols. Their society was organized into tribes, and they were significant players in the early history of Britain, often interacting with the Romans and other Celtic groups. Ultimately, Pictish identity and culture merged with incoming Scots in the 9th century.
