Brochs

Brochs are ancient stone towers built in Scotland during the Iron Age, around 2,000 years ago. They are characterized by their thick, circular walls that often reach up to four or five stories high, with a central stairway and internal rooms. These structures likely served as homes, defensive strongholds, or status symbols for local communities. The design helped withstand harsh weather and potential threats, while their strategic locations offered visibility over the surrounding landscape.
