Stenting

Stenting is a medical procedure used to open narrowed or blocked arteries, especially in the heart. A small tube called a stent, often made of metal mesh, is inserted into the artery via a catheter. Once in place, the stent expands to hold the artery open, restoring blood flow. This helps prevent heart attacks and relieves symptoms like chest pain. The procedure is minimally invasive, usually done during a heart catheterization, and the stent remains in the artery permanently to ensure it stays open.
