Species

A species is a group of living organisms that can interbreed and produce fertile offspring under natural conditions. Members of a species share common characteristics and genetic similarities, which distinguish them from other groups. For example, all dogs belong to the species Canis lupus familiaris, while all domestic cats belong to Felis catus. The concept of species helps scientists classify and understand the diversity of life on Earth, as well as the relationships and differences among various organisms.
