Spatial Hearing
Spatial hearing is the ability to identify the location and distance of sounds in our environment. It relies on cues our ears pick up, such as the differences in time and intensity at which sounds reach each ear. For example, if someone claps behind you, the sound will reach the ear closest to the source slightly sooner and louder. This natural ability helps us navigate our surroundings, understand where sounds are coming from, and enhance our overall auditory experience, contributing to activities like conversation and listening to music or nature.
