Space Exploration Technologies Corp., commonly known as SpaceX, is an American aerospace manufacturer and space transport services company founded by Elon Musk in 2002. Its mission is to reduce space transportation costs and enable the colonization of Mars. SpaceX is known for pioneering reusable rocket technology, exemplified by the Falcon 9 rocket, which significantly lowers the cost of launching payloads into space. The company also developed the Dragon spacecraft for resupply missions to the International Space Station and is working on the Starship vehicle for future crewed missions to the Moon and Mars.
