SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory)
The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) is a joint project of NASA and the European Space Agency, launched in 1995 to study the Sun. It continuously observes solar activity, such as solar flares and coronal mass ejections, which can impact Earth’s magnetosphere and communications. SOHO helps scientists understand the Sun’s behavior, its lifecycle, and its influence on the solar system. By providing detailed images and data, it contributes to our knowledge of space weather and its effects on technology and life on Earth.
