Sikorski’s Army

Sikorski’s Army refers to the Polish Armed Forces formed during World War II under General Władysław Sikorski, the Prime Minister of the Polish government-in-exile. After Poland was invaded by Nazi Germany in 1939, many Polish soldiers and civilians fled to other countries. In 1941, the Soviet Union, which had occupied part of Poland, agreed to form an army to fight against the Axis powers. This army became known as Sikorski’s Army and played a crucial role in various military campaigns, aiming to restore Polish sovereignty and support the Allies in their efforts to defeat Nazi Germany.
