Siachen Battle

The Siachen Battle refers to the ongoing military conflict between India and Pakistan over the Siachen Glacier, located in the northern part of the Himalayas. The conflict began in 1984 when India launched Operation Meghdoot to assert control over the strategically important glacier. Both countries maintain troops in extremely harsh weather conditions, leading to high casualties from both combat and environmental challenges. The region's altitude and terrain have made it one of the world’s highest battlefields. Despite several attempts at peace negotiations, the dispute remains unresolved, deeply impacting military and civilian lives in both countries.
