Sexual Harassment Law
Sexual harassment law in employment prohibits unwanted sexual advances, comments, or behavior that create a hostile or intimidating work environment. It encompasses both quid pro quo harassment (where submission to such behavior is linked to job benefits) and hostile work environment harassment (where the behavior interferes with an individual’s work). Employers are responsible for preventing and addressing harassment. Complaints can be made to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) or through internal company channels. Victims are protected from retaliation for reporting harassment. These laws aim to ensure a safe and respectful workplace for all employees.
