Sericulture
Sericulture is the cultivation of silkworms to produce silk. It involves breeding silkworms, primarily the larvae of the silkworm moth, and feeding them mulberry leaves. After a few weeks, the larvae spin cocoons made of silk threads. These cocoons are then harvested and processed to extract silk fibers. Sericulture is an important agricultural practice in many countries, contributing to the textile industry and providing livelihoods for many farmers. It combines elements of biology and agriculture to produce a luxurious and highly sought-after material used in clothing and various textiles.
