Semantic SLAM
Semantic SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) is a robotic technology that allows machines to identify their surroundings while also mapping them in real time. Unlike traditional SLAM, which focuses primarily on spatial location, Semantic SLAM incorporates object recognition and understanding. This means it not only knows where it is but also what objects are around—like walls, furniture, or landmarks. By combining spatial data with semantic information, robots can navigate more intelligently, interact with their environment more effectively, and perform tasks that require understanding the meaning of their surroundings.
