Semantic Segmentation
Semantic segmentation is a computer vision technique that identifies and categorizes every pixel in an image based on its meaning. For example, it can distinguish between all the pixels belonging to cars, pedestrians, trees, and buildings in a street scene. This process helps machines understand the environment at a detailed level, enabling applications like autonomous vehicles, medical imaging, and image analysis. Essentially, it "labels" each part of an image with its corresponding category, allowing for precise interpretation and decision-making by computers.
