Second Polish Corps
The Second Polish Corps was a military formation established during World War II, primarily composed of Polish soldiers who escaped from Poland after its invasion in 1939. Formed in 1943 under British command, the Corps fought alongside Allied forces in Italy, playing significant roles in battles, such as the pivotal Battle of Monte Cassino. The Corps included various units, and its soldiers were committed to liberating their homeland from Nazi occupation. After the war, many Polish soldiers in the Corps remained abroad due to political changes in Poland, affecting their return to their country.
