Sciatica
Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which runs from your lower back down through your hips and buttocks, and into each leg. It typically occurs when a herniated disk, bone spur, or spinal stenosis compresses the nerve. Symptoms may include sharp pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness in the leg. Sciatica often affects only one side of the body and can range from mild to debilitating. Treatment may involve physical therapy, medication, or, in severe cases, surgery, aimed at relieving pressure on the nerve and addressing the underlying cause.
