San Antonio Missions
The San Antonio Missions are a group of five historic Spanish missions located in San Antonio, Texas, established in the 18th century to spread Christianity among Native Americans and to support Spanish colonization. These missions include Mission San José, Mission Concepción, Mission San Juan, Mission Espada, and the Alamo. Each served as a community hub, promoting agriculture and crafts. The missions are recognized for their architectural significance and cultural heritage, and in 2015, they were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, highlighting their importance in American history and the blending of indigenous and Spanish cultures.
