Sample Size

Sample size refers to the number of individuals or observations included in a study or survey. It’s crucial because a larger sample size generally provides more reliable results, reflecting the larger population more accurately. For example, if you want to know the favorite ice cream flavor of a town, asking 10 people might yield misleading results, while asking 1,000 people gives a better overall picture. However, larger samples also require more resources and time. Finding the right balance ensures the data collected is both manageable and statistically valid for drawing conclusions about the whole population.
