Sample size refers to the number of individuals or observations included in a study or survey. It’s crucial because a larger sample size generally provides more reliable results, reflecting the larger population more accurately. For example, if you want to know the favorite ice cream flavor of a town, asking 10 people might yield misleading results, while asking 1,000 people gives a better overall picture. However, larger samples also require more resources and time.
