Salmonellosis

Salmonellosis is an infection caused by the Salmonella bacteria, often found in contaminated food, especially raw or undercooked meat, eggs, and dairy products. It can lead to symptoms like diarrhea, stomach cramps, fever, and nausea, usually appearing 6 hours to 6 days after exposure. While most people recover without specific treatment, young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems may face more severe illness. To prevent salmonellosis, it's important to practice safe food handling, such as cooking foods thoroughly and avoiding cross-contamination.
