Rudolf Clausius
Rudolf Clausius was a German physicist and one of the founding figures of thermodynamics, the study of heat and energy. He is best known for formulating the second law of thermodynamics, which states that natural processes tend to increase disorder, or entropy, in a system. Clausius also introduced the concept of internal energy, highlighting how energy moves within physical systems. His work laid the groundwork for understanding chemical reactions, energy efficiency, and the fundamental principles governing heat engines, shaping both classical and chemical thermodynamics and influencing various scientific and engineering disciplines.
