Equilibrium Thermodynamics

Equilibrium Thermodynamics is the study of energy transfer in a system when it's at rest, or equilibrium. It's like a cup of hot tea cooling in a room. Initially, the tea is hotter, and the room cooler. Over time, heat from the tea moves to the room until they're the same temperature—that's equilibrium. Thermodynamics measures and explains this process, using laws to predict behavior. It relates to how energy converts and balances, applications of which include engines, refrigeration, and more, significantly influencing science and engineering.
