Rosai-Dorfman disease

Rosai-Dorfman disease is a rare condition characterized by an abnormal increase in a type of immune cell called "histiocytes." These cells can accumulate in various parts of the body, most commonly in lymph nodes, causing swelling and sometimes affecting other organs. The exact cause of the disease is unknown, but it can lead to symptoms like fever, weight loss, and fatigue. While it primarily affects children and young adults, it can occur at any age. Most cases are benign and resolve on their own, but treatment may be needed for severe or persistent symptoms.
