Granulomatous lymphadenitis

Granulomatous lymphadenitis is a condition where the lymph nodes swell due to the formation of small clusters of immune cells called granulomas. These granulomas develop as a response to infections, such as tuberculosis or certain fungi, or other immune-related conditions. Essentially, the body tries to contain substances it perceives as harmful by walling them off with these immune cell clusters. This process causes the lymph nodes, which are part of the immune system and help fight infections, to become enlarged, often tender, and sometimes firm. Proper diagnosis involves identifying the underlying cause to determine appropriate treatment.
