Rick Hansen

Rick Hansen is a Canadian athlete, activist, and philanthropist known for his work in advancing the rights and accessibility for people with disabilities. After sustaining a spinal cord injury in a 1985 accident, he became a champion for change, famously embarking on the "Man in Motion" World Tour, where he traveled over 40,000 kilometers in a wheelchair to raise awareness and funds for spinal cord research. Hansen is also the founder of the Rick Hansen Foundation, which promotes inclusivity and accessibility in communities across Canada. His efforts have significantly contributed to improving the lives of many individuals with disabilities.
