Order of Canada

The Order of Canada is one of Canada's highest civilian honors, established in 1967 to recognize outstanding contributions to society. It celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service in various fields, including arts, science, sports, and public service. Recipients are appointed by the Governor General of Canada, based on recommendations from an independent advisory council. Being named a member signifies a person’s achievements and impact on the community, country, or the world. The Order has three levels: Companion, Officer, and Member, each representing different degrees of recognition.
