Richard III (historical figure)

Richard III was the last Plantagenet king of England, reigning from 1483 until his death in 1485. He is often remembered for his controversial rule and is best known for his portrayal as a villain in Shakespeare’s play. Richard seized the throne after the death of his brother, Edward IV, and faced opposition from rivals, leading to the dynastic conflicts known as the Wars of the Roses. His reign ended at the Battle of Bosworth Field, where he was defeated by Henry Tudor, marking the rise of the Tudor dynasty and the end of medieval England.
