Racial Assimilation

Racial assimilation is the process by which individuals or groups from different racial or ethnic backgrounds adopt the cultural practices, values, and norms of a dominant or host society. This often involves changing one’s language, customs, and lifestyle to blend in and be accepted within that society. While assimilation can lead to increased social cohesion, it may also result in the loss of cultural identity and heritage for the assimilating group, as they may abandon traditions in favor of those of the dominant culture.
