Anglo-conformity

Anglo-conformity is a cultural idea suggesting that immigrants, especially from non-English backgrounds, should adopt the language, customs, and behaviors of Anglo-American society to integrate successfully. It emphasizes blending into the dominant culture by embracing its values and norms, often minimizing or changing original cultural identities. This approach was historically favored in the United States to promote social cohesion but has also been criticized for reducing cultural diversity and pressuring immigrants to abandon their heritage.
