Q source

The Q Source, often referred to as "Q," is a hypothetical collection of ancient texts that many scholars believe compiled the sayings and teachings of Jesus. This source is thought to have been used by the authors of the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, which share content not found in the Gospel of Mark. While no copies of Q exist today, its existence helps explain similarities in these Gospels and provides insights into early Christian beliefs and the oral traditions surrounding Jesus’ life and message. The concept is central to understanding the development of the New Testament.
