Pyramid of Senusret I

The Pyramid of Senusret I, built around 1971-1926 BCE, is one of the earliest examples of a pyramid constructed in ancient Egypt, located in El-Lahun. Senusret I was a pharaoh of the Middle Kingdom, known for his architectural advancements and strong leadership. This pyramid, originally encased in fine white limestone, was part of a larger complex that included temples and residences. Unlike the famous pyramids at Giza, this pyramid has a more complex interior, showcasing the evolution of burial practices. Over time, much of the limestone was removed, but it remains a significant archaeological site that reflects ancient Egyptian culture and engineering.
