Pusan Perimeter

The Pusan Perimeter was a defensive line established during the Korean War in 1950. Following North Korea's invasion of South Korea, South Korean and United Nations forces retreated to a region around the city of Pusan, located in the southeast. This area became a critical stronghold for UN troops, allowing them to regroup and defend against the North Korean advance. The successful defense of the Pusan Perimeter was vital because it enabled the eventual UN counteroffensive, leading to a turning point in the war.
